About Me
I have always had a love of stories. As a boy, my Scout leader used to tell tall tales around the campfire, a tradition that I carried on after he left the group. Never one to miss a chance to show off or perform, I took every chance I could to spin tales to an audience.
My story telling and writing tailed off for a few years, until I joined the good folks of the Aderida Gorsedd, a Druid group that met near the Long Man of Wilmington ( a large chalk figure carved into a hill in East Sussex). At the end of their seasonal celebrations they hold an eistedfodd, a time where stories , poems and songs are shared.
These seasonal celebrations are held on a flat section of a hill on the South Downs beneath the chalk figure, hence the name of this site.
My thanks go to Cerri Lee and Damh the Bard for facilitating these gatherings and once again igniting my love of stories and poems.
With stories, I have always said that if I tell them to you, they are then gifted to you. They will then be your stories to tell and gift to others.
Maybe one day I will meet you at a camp or event, and you will tell me one of these stories or poems. What a treasured moment that would be for me.
